Disney to Release Mulan Exclusively on Disney Plus
Disney has been cashing in on the theatrical releases of live-action remakes of animated films such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, despite what critics may say about their quality. Their lastest twist on beloved classic won't be donning the same reappearance.
After a number of delays and a forgettable international release, Mulan will forgo its return to the big screens and Disney will opt for an Artemis Fowl-style premier through Disney+.
The pandemic has brought about the closure of movie theaters and the delay of cinematic premiers across the globe. Because of this, many blockbusters have had to re-evaluate their release dates or postpone them into 2021 equivalents.
Today, the Disney CEO Bob Chapek broke the silence on Mulan's unfortunate fate and announced that the Disney digital service will take over the on-demand release.
Mulan will be up for direct purchase through the streaming site for $29.99 USD in September and will be accessible elsewhere for those who do not subscribe to Disney+.
