Marvel's Kevin Feige Speaks on Marvel Netflix Characters
The Marvel characters that were introduced through Netflix Originals may not see themselves stay on Netflix forever, and the cast members who have played them may be set for a return.
Marvel Studios president was questioned about the future of Netflix Marvel's characters moving forward during a press event for WandaVision. Netflix has been home to Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Defenders, as well as The Punisher, and after the short-lived Netflix Marvel Universe was put on pause, the fate of these characters was unforseen.
"Everything is on the board," Feige tells THR. "That's one of the fun things about the comics is that characters would appear and disappear and come and go. All of it is [an] inspiration for the future. There are some great characters and actors from those shows."
According to Feige, who has not confirmed nor denied the possible return of old characters in new Marvel projects, there is still a chance that fans who are hopeful to see their favorite Defender return, could see their wish be granted.
Rumors have been in no shortage as Marvel Studios prepares to kick off their next cinematic phase, starting with WandaVision on January 15. With Spider-Man 3 nearing by the day, there are expectancies that Charlie Cox will reprise his role of Matt "Daredevil" Murdock as Peter "Spider-Man" Parker's potential lawyer. Whether or not Cox is to play the same version of the lawyer-by-day, vigilante-by-night as he did for Netflix, it's refreshing that Feige leaves the door open for possibilities regarding all former Netflix titles.
