The Next 'Star Wars' Film to Release in 2023
Disney has made many current changes in the release slate when it comes to titles such as Mulan and Marvel's Black Widow, as well as some delays for their Disney+ series. Most recently, the untitled Star Wars film, which will break in a new trilogy, will be next to experience a slight delay.
Lucasfilm and Disney have made a strong point of releasing the five new-age Star Wars movies over a period of five years, capping off the modern era's filmography with The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
The next Star Wars epoch may kick off a year behind but promises to bring new visions from bright, sharp directors such as Taiki Waititi, who declared his presence in Lucasfilm while working on The Mandalorian. The meantime brings about a tunneled focus on Disney+'s Star Wars titles, including the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and a limited Cassian Andor run.
Disney had originally carved out the timeframe of 2022, 2024, and then 2026 to conclude their untitled slated cinematic releases. Lucasfilm has been air-tight and has hoarded away any information in regards to their next intergalactic triad. The single-year impediment will softly push back Disney and Lucasfilm's space ternion to respected 2023, 2025, and 2027 dates in a galaxy far, far away.
