'Wonder Woman 3' is Most Likely Patty Jenkin's Last for Wonder Woman Series

Wonder Woman 1984 still hasn't hit big screens, let alone show us any new promotional material, but a third Wonder Woman film will probably conclude Jenkin's work on the series.

Breaking the mold for superhero films and setting a woman - Wonder Woman, that is - at the forefront, director Patty Jenkins admitted that the next Wonder Woman film will "probably" be her bow out from the franchise.

Marvel is a bit late to the party as Black Widow has finally earned its long-awaited release year, but follow the DC Extended Universe in true "girl power" after Harley Quinn's solo flick received mostly praise.

The Wonder Woman sequel's delayed release doesn't stop Jenkins from thinking ahead to the next installment in her series.

"WW84 gave me a chance to do a lot of things that I couldn't accommodate in the first movie. I was so happy to tell the Wonder Woman origin story. It was almost her birth, but we really haven't seen what she is capable of. It is exciting for me to show her at the peak of her strength," Jenkins said, 'but it is also very important that she fights an internal struggle: she is a Goddess and tries to help humanity. She is not only someone who fights evil, she tries to show bad people how to improve. It's an interesting dilemma. The next one (WW3) is probably my last Wonder Woman movie, so I have to put everything I want to show there. We have to think carefully."

This doesn't come much as a surprise to Jenkins fans and for DC fans alike. Jenkins, yes, is working on the Amazonian-centric spinoff, but has already dismissed the rumors of her direction, but will be sure to play a heavy-handed role. The third Wonder Woman will place itself in a modern era, meaning that Jenkins will fold in modern-day turmoil into her final film.
